Carruth Withdraws from LG City Manager Race

Kevin Carruth of Rockport withdrew from consideration for the La Grange City Manager position, according to Interim City Manager Frank Menefee. Carruth was the City Council’s second pick for the job. One candidate remains from the four that the Council interviewed back in November: Fred Bell of Los Fresnos.

Red Door Fund for Mental Health Launches Second Annual Campaign

The Red Door Fund for Mental Health (RDF) starts second year of campaign to raise awareness and support for mental health in Fayette and Colorado Counties. The RDF, a fund of the Fayette Community Foundation (FCF), has started it’s 2023 campaign aimed at mental health awarenss, education and increasing access to mental health services and providers.

Animal Shelter Update

As of Jan. 20, total intake for the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter is 78: 31 dogs and 47 cats in need. As of Jan. 20, the shelter has 82 animals in care: 59 dogs and 23 cats. This number includes animals in the facility, in foster care for medical, waiting on available space, or awaiting transport to rescue partner.
