Animal Shelter Update

As of Jan. 20, total intake for the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter is 78: 31 dogs and 47 cats in need. As of Jan. 20, the shelter has 82 animals in care: 59 dogs and 23 cats. This number includes animals in the facility, in foster care for medical, waiting on available space, or awaiting transport to rescue partner.

Spay and neuter is the only way to manage the stray, unwanted dog and cat population in Fayette County. The shelter offers a discount voucher program for the citizens of Fayette County for the spay/neuter of family pets. Call (979) 9660021 for more information.
