Flatonia Police Reports on February Calls for Service
On Feb. 1, Officer T. Amos was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian. Officer Amos arrived before medical personnel and was able to effectively communicate information to responding medics. When medics arrived, they assisted the injured pedestrian and confirmed that occupants of the vehicle did not need medical attention. Officer Amos was able to ensure scene safety, provide traffic control, and conduct a thorough traffic accident investigation.

The Women’s Action Guild (WAG) is planning their monthly meeting on Monday, March 20 beginning at 5:30 p.m. at Flatonia United Methodist Church in Newman Hall. This is the annual membership drive salad supper. Current members are asked to bring a dish and door prize. There is a side entrance on N. Kolt Finds Half Million in Cocaine
Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that on Saturday March 4, the Fayette County Sheriffs Office Narcotics Canine Unit, Sgt. Randy Thumann and K9 partner “Kolt”, stopped a silver colored Nissan Altima on Interstate 10 at approximately 11:55 a.m. for a traffic violation. After speaking to the driver and passenger, many criminal indicators were observed and consent to search the vehicle was granted. Canine “Kolt” was deployed to conduct a free air sweep of the vehicle. Sgt. Thumann observed Kolt alerted to the odor of illegal narcotics coming from underneath the vehicle.
