Barn Fire Destroys Lawn Mowers Monday

Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports on Monday morning around 12:30 a.m. the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting a structure fire on Roy Rd. off FM 2237. The Muldoon Fire Department was notified and responded to the scene along with Sgt. Ryan Meagher and Deputy Cedar Chase. Upon arrival it was reported a pole barn was fully engulfed. The Muldoon Fire Department requested assistance from the Flatonia Fire Department who also responded along with EMS Unit Medic 3 and EMS 2 Supervisor. The fire was quickly contained and extinguished with no reported injuries. There were three riding lawn mowers, an Arctic Cat 4 wheeler, and a Kushman riding cart that were all destroyed by the fire and another out building suffered heat damage. The cause of the fire is believed to have started by a heat lamp and extension cord.
