The Inside Scoop on Fertilizer Spreaders

I own several fertilizer spreaders. Some are the pushtype spreaders that have two wheels and can take up to one bag of fertilizer. Another is hand-operated. A third type spreader is a PTO driven model that attaches to the back end of a tractor. It can hold eight to twelve bags of fertilizer. But my favorite fertilizer spreaders by far are self propelled.

Local Authorities Catch Austin-Area Robbery Suspects

Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that on December 28, Fayette County Deputies received information about two suspect vehicles that had been involved in a robbery in Cedar Park and were believed to be heading East towards the Houston area. The suspects were believed to have been surveilling a small business owner before following them and later assaulting and robbing the victim before fleeing. Deputy AJ Gonzales and an unmarked unit located the vehicles traveling together on Hwy 71 and followed them until additional units could join them. Gonzales and others conducted a felony traffic stop on one vehicle while Deputy Bohlmann along with several Deputies and La Grange PD units separated to initiate another felony stop on the second vehicle. The suspects in each vehicle were detained and a large amount of currency believed to be taken in the robbery was located inside one of the vehicles, along with equipment for surveilling targets. The subjects, vehicles, and evidence were transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center and later released to Cedar Park PD.

Remembering the Past to Start Something New

The start of the new year brings all things anew. New feelings, new chances, new dreams, and especially new beginnings, and a little studio in Ammannsville reminded me that sometimes we must remember the past to start anew.

Grants Rolled in During 2022

Fayette County received its second allocation of funding through the American Rescue Plan in May of 2022. The County continued to use the funds to fill gaps identified county-wide. The renovation of the Flatonia EMS station was completed, as was a crew’s quarter in Round Top at the Round Top fire station. The Schulenburg EMS station was nearing completion at the end of the year.
