Fayette Water Supply Corporation (FWSC) held an open house on Wednesday, Nov. 15, to celebrate the rural water utility’s 50th anniversary. FWSC used the occasion to introduce its new general manager, Ronnie Wick.

By most accounts, the first train stopped in Schulenburg on New Year’s Eve in 1873. That date marks the birth of the town, and this year Schulenburg will celebrate its 150th birthday.

150 Out Monday at La Grange Elementary The La Grange school board held their monthly meeting Monday. Superintendent Andy McHazlett told the board that seasonal sicknesses are taking their toll on the student body.

The La Grange City Council selected 11 semifinalists for the vacant City Manager position at their meeting on Monday, Nov. 13.

The La Grange Knights of Columbus along with the Fayette County Habitat for Humanity will host a Thanksgiving fundraiser. The La Grange Knights of Columbus will be selling 14-16 lb. BBQ turkeys for $60 each. Homemade dressing (9x13) for $30 and 1 qt. of giblet gravy for $10 will be available from the Fayette County Habitat for Humanity prepared by Jill Steuber. Each item is available separately. All orders must be placed with the Knights of Columbus before Nov. 16. Call (979) 968-5117 to pre-order.
