Party 150 Years in the Making Set for Schulenburg’s Birthday
By most accounts, the first train stopped in Schulenburg on New Year’s Eve in 1873. That date marks the birth of the town, and this year Schulenburg will celebrate its 150th birthday.
The Schulenburg Sesquicentennial Celebration will take place on Dec. 2 in downtown. Festivities include a chili and chicken noodle soup cookoff, a “quick draw” art contest, speeches by local political leaders, a cornhole tournament, lighted Christmas parade, a visit by Santa and live music by the Fender Bender Band. Check out the full lineup: 8:00 a.m.
