BBQ Turkeys, Stuffing & Gravy
The La Grange Knights of Columbus along with the Fayette County Habitat for Humanity will host a Thanksgiving fundraiser. The La Grange Knights of Columbus will be selling 14-16 lb. BBQ turkeys for $60 each. Homemade dressing (9x13) for $30 and 1 qt. of giblet gravy for $10 will be available from the Fayette County Habitat for Humanity prepared by Jill Steuber. Each item is available separately. All orders must be placed with the Knights of Columbus before Nov. 16. Call (979) 968-5117 to pre-order. Pickup will be held Wednesday, Nov. 22 from 4-6 p.m. at the La Grange Knights of Columbus Community Center at 190 Brown St. in La Grange.
Care of holiday plants and flowers, and holiday arrangements will be the topic of the La Grange Garden Club’s meeting Thursday, Nov. 16 at 2 p.m. Master Gardener Becky McKay of Giddings Nursery & Garden Center will be presenting this timely program. Everyone is invited to join at Randolph Recreation Center at 653 E. Pearl St. in La Grange.
There’s more Feed the Need, a non-profit organization whose mission is to feed people physically and spiritually, will provide free burgers every Monday at 6:30 p.m. in La Grange at the south east corner of the courthouse square. Everyone is welcome.
Al-Anon Meetings in Bastrop
Al-Anon meetings are held every Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at United Methodist Church located at 1201 Main St. in Bastrop. Christmas Craft Fair
The New Life Methodist Church (formerly FUMC) will host a Christmas Craft Fair on Saturday, Nov. 18. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. There are 28 vendors with many different crafts. Lunch will be served by the Methodist Men. Proceeds from this event will benefit Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child. Thanksgiving Service at Swiss Alp
The Schulenburg Ministerial Alliance Thanksgiving Service will be held Sunday, Nov. 19 at 5: 30 p.m. at United Evangelical Lutheran Church at Swiss Alp located at 2038 FM 3171, Schulenburg. A barbecue meal will follow the service. Please bring a dessert to share. All are welcome.
Second Chance Emporium Schedule Second Chance Emporium will accept donations on Nov. 20-22 from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. prior to the Thanksgiving holiday. Donations drop-off area and the sales store are closed Nov. 23-25.

VFW Post 5254 & Auxiliary Meeting A light meal and meetings will be held by La Grange Fayette Memorial VFW Post No. 5254 and Auxiliary on Tuesday, Nov. 21, at the VFW Home in La Grange. Meeting time for the VFW Auxiliary is 5 p.m., joint meal at 6 p.m., followed by the VFW Post meeting.
