At last week’s school board meeting, Nicole Ramirez, special programs coordinator, gave a report on the Bilingual/English as a Second Language (ESL) programs for the 2022-23 school year. There are two different programs occurring in LGISD.
The Blinn College-Schulenburg Campus is offering a medication aide refresher course designed to meet state continuing education requirements. The $75 course will be held Monday, Nov.
The meeting of the KJZT St. Anne’s Society No. 10 was called to order at 1 p.m. on Aug. 16 at St. John’s Recreation Hall. President Mary Jane Toddy opened the meeting with prayers for all living members and their families and led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance. There were 11 members present, including state director Edith Streider.

Second Chance Emporium (SCE) recently donated $20,000 to the Fayetteville ISD Parent Teacher Club (PTC). Monies donated will be used to provide educational materials and technology, including laptops, calculators, iPads, etc.
Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that on Sept. 16, Deputy James Ulbig was dispatched to a residence on Old Plum Hwy. regarding USPS locating narcotics in a mailbox. Upon Deputy Ulbig’s arrival, the narcotics had been removed.
Senior Connections started off last Monday with a Lunch & Learn speaker from Garden-Walk of LSW that provides some reduced cost senior housing in La Grange, Weimar, and Schulenburg. Tuesday was Baking Group’s day.
