La Grange City offices will be closed Monday, Jan. 1, 2024 in observance of New Year’s Day holiday. Waste Management will be off on New Year’s Day, Monday, Jan. 1, 2024. If your trash is normally picked up on Monday, it will get picked up on Tuesday. If your trash is on Tuesday, it will be picked up on Wednesday during New Year’s week. Thursday and Friday, trash pick up days will have a normal schedule. If you have any questions, contact La Grange Utilities at (979) 968-3127.
Hermann Sons Life Rutersville will have their regular monthly meeting Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2024 at 7 p.m. Members are asked to bring stew, soup or desserts for the meal.
Retired Teachers
The Fayette County Retired Teachers’ Association will meet on Monday, Jan. 8, at the Fellowship Hall of the New Life Methodist Church, located at 1215 Von Minden in La Grange. Social time will be 1:30 p.m., business meeting is at 2 p.m. Members are reminded of the following: bring treats and snacks for the Teacher Appreciation Baskets which will be filled at the end of the meeting, homemade goodies are accepted, but should be individually wrapped, baskets will be delivered to all Fayette County Public Schools; Bring 2023 (January-December) totals of volunteer hours. Everyone is welcome to join a Photography Club on Tuesday, Jan. 9 at 6:30 p.m. at Round Top Church Christian Fellowship, 440 E. Mill St. in Round Top. Meet in the sanctuary. 17 and under welcome with a parent. All skill levels are welcome. Anyone with an interest in photography is welcome to attend.

Sophomores, juniors and seniors whose parent or guardians are members of Fayette Electric Cooperative are encouraged to apply at fayette.coop/youth-tour.
