Holy Cross Picnic Returns With BBQ, Auctions and Live Music Sept. 6

Holy Cross Annual Church Picnic will be held on Sunday, Sept. 6 at the picnic grounds. They will be selling BBQ brisket, pork, fryers and sauce beginning at 9:30 a.m. The Ladies will be taking preorders for sides of beans, potato salad, coleslaw and noodles for $4 a pint. There is a signup sheet in the church Narthex for sides. Sides are also available the day of the picnic.

During the month of August, local Round Top restaurants are participating in a unique initiative encouraging our community to dine local and invest local. These restaurants are offering featured menus, specialty items, and unique dining experiences. A portion of proceeds from Restaurant Weeks purchases benefits the Greater Fayette Community Foundation’s Community Impact Funds, which support grassroots organizations working in mental health, workforce development, education, rural health, and community wellbeing. Every meal gives back.

Chad Zimmermann, the Schulenburg property owner who organized the effort, said he filed a petition with the City last Friday.
