Five Locals Arrested in Meth Bust Jan. 11

Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that on Thursday, January 11, the Fayette County Undercover Narcotics Unit concluded a month long investigation into narcotics dealing, by executing two search warrants on residences, within the city limits of La Grange.

LG Man Arrested in Waelder

Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that on Wednesday, January 10, the Fayette County Undercover Narcotics Unit tracked down a wanted subject that had fled to Waelder. The Narcotics Unit located the subject’s vehicle at a residence and with the assistance of the Waelder Police Department located Justin Miller, 38 years of age, of La Grange.

Hurricane Harvey Buyouts Nearing Conclusion in LG

Fayette County Commissioners awarded bids for demolishing two of the last buyout homes on Country Club Drive just outside La Grange. The County decided to purchase and demolish the homes on Country Club Drive that flooded during Hurricane Harvey in 2017 using federal grant funds.

On Saturday morning, January 13, Schulenburg Police Officers and Deputies with the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, Texas- Sheriff Keith Korenek responded to a residence in the 300 block of Simpson St. for a report of an active disturbance.

Northern Fayette County Property Being Divided Up at a Fast Rate

Fayette County Inspector Clint Sternadel presented a report to the Commissioners Court last Thursday about property development around the County over the last three years. Sternadel said there were 127 subdivision applications in 2023. That’s up from 116 divisions in 2022. There were 128 divisions in 2021.
