Mullins Prairie Store Closing, But Set To Reopen Under New Management

The managing partners of Mullins Prairie Store on FM 155 between La Grange and Weimar announced they will cease operations after this weekend. “This economy has not been kind to anyone, but the consequences of closing down outweigh the opportunities to stay open,” the business said in a Facebook post on Wednesday, March 19.

Some TLC for 164-Year-Old LG Building

Last week some exterior work was being done on the stately Old Masonic Building on Travis St. just off the courthouse square. Henry Rhode constructed the Masonic building in 1860 with Florian Meyer serving as contractor. Constructed of limestone blocks covered with stucco, it rises three stories and is crowned with a projecting stone cornice.

Revenue from Sales Tax Dips in Fayette County
