Arts for Rural Texas (ARTS) announces Diane Peterson as the featured artist for this year’s ArtWalk, a juried fine art festival held annually on Fayetteville’s historic town square. The event, free and open to the public, showcases over 60 artists working in a variety of media, including painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, ceramics, fiber, and mixed media. This year’s ArtWalk will take place on Saturday, May 3, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, May 4, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

La Grange Independent School District is considering changing to a four-day school week. In a message to parents sent out Thursday, the district announced the idea and then followed that up with a survey to parents Friday.

City and school board elections will take place on May 3. The first day to file for a place on the ballot was Jan.

The La Grange Area Chamber of Commerce will hold a Valentine’s Mixer at Jay Dee’z Sports Grill on Tuesday, Feb. 11 from 5-7 p.m. Attendees can enjoy appetizers, door prizes, a complimentary glass of champagne, and networking with fellow business owners and chamber members.
