Come kickoff the 250th year ofAmerica with St. James Church in La Grange with the Voice of Freedom, a one-hour play with music and dialogue from our revolutionary days featuring an instrumental ensemble with violins, trumpet, cello, flute, piano; and a community choir and readers of the words of our forefathers on Friday, June 26, 7 p.m. and Saturday, June 27, 3 p.m. Admission is free (donations appreciated). After 53 years, Gene Oeding is retiring from Balcones Minerals Corporation at the end of June. His career at Balcones Minerals will be celebrated at a retirement party, being held on Tuesday, June 30 from 3-6 p.m. at Robert’s Steakhouse.
