The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Offices of Colorado and Fayette Counties are pleased to announce the 2025 Colorado/Fayette Pecan Field Day. The event will be held on Wednesday, May 14, at the Looger Orchard located at 1287 CR 200 in Weimar. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. with the program starting at 9 a.m. and concluding at noon.

At just 16 years old, Reagan Moreau is doing more than most high schoolers her age—she’s graduating a full year early with a college associate’s degree already under her belt. Thanks to the Alliance for College & Career Student Success (ACCSS) program housed at Blinn College and its partnership with several small independent school districts (ISDs) in Fayette and surrounding counties, students like Reagan are seizing opportunities that some larger school districts can’t match.

On May 3 and 4 Fayette County Community Theatre (FCCT) will present Dilemmas with Dinner by Robin Roberts. The play begins with Brooke inviting her boss and his wife over for dinner hoping to secure a promotion. Before dinner, Brooke and her husband discover that the caterer is the boss’ ex-daughterin- law and their relationship is not friendly. Everything that could go wrong does, and the characters handle it all with candlestick attacks, an appetizer toss, and all over chaos. The play will be presented at the Sanford Schmid Amphitheater on the grounds of the Texas Czech Heritage and Cultural Center in La Grange. The cast boasts FCCT veterans, and newcomers as well.

Students of St. Rose of Lima Catholic School in grades 1-8 had the opportunity to participate in the District 9A Private Schools Interscholastic Association Meet held on Saturday, Feb. 15, at St. Michael’s Catholic School in Cuero. A total of 39 St. Rose students participated in 100 events.
