Powerhouse Lilli Lewis Headed To La Grange

The Linda Smalley Concert Series is bringing a performer with larger-than-life talent to town that you don’t want to miss. Problem is, you may not yet know her name. Bigger problem, you might not know her genre. So, you ask, why take a chance and go see her if you don’t know who she is or even what kind of music she’ll be doing? Why take the risk?

Texas Favorites Terri Hendrix and Lloyd Maines Return to the Bugle Boy Saturday

Rest assured that when singer-songwriter Terri Hendrix talks about how much she and her longtime musical partner Lloyd Maines are looking forward to playing the Bugle Boy this Saturday, she’s not just dutifully plugging just another gig in just another town on a long list of endless tour dates. She 100-percent really means it.

Blazing the Fayette Co. Breakfast Taco Trail: First Stop – Taqueria Sergio’s

The hard-working people of Fayette County wake up early in the morning, but before they haul that first load of gravel, or hammer the first nail, or pour that big slab of concrete, they need some fuel. For this, they turn to the humble but mighty breakfast taco. The Record’s Jeff Wick and Andy Behlen are traveling to the taquerias of Fayette County to review their offerings. Last Friday, we visited Taqueria Sergio’s in La Grange. As you walk inside this little red building west of the old River Bridge in La Grange, you’ll notice the place is pretty laid back. You can order at the counter, or you can sit at a table and someone will take your order. If the place is busy, you’ll probably end up sharing a table with others. There’s a menu, but if you look around, you might see some regulars eating dishes that don’t appear on the menu.

The trial against Childers, 55 of La Grange, ended with a hung jury on Oct. 12. Seven of the 12 jurors voted to acquit. He had faced three counts of aggravated robbery, one for each of the three tellers whom the robber threatened with a gun.
