LGISD Staffer Resigns After Improperly Communicating With a Student

La Grange Superintendent Andy McHazlett sent this message to parents and guardians Wednesday: “I want to make everyone aware that a staff member has recently resigned following an internal investigation into unprofessional electronic communications with a student. Once the concern was brought to our attention, the employee was immediately placed on administrative leave while the situation was reviewed. The investigation confirmed that inappropriate communication boundaries had been crossed. While there was no evidence of criminal activity, the conduct did not align with the expectations outlined in the Educator Code of Ethics and the District’s professional standards. The safety and well being of our students and staff will continue to be our number one priority. This matter was handled promptly, thoroughly, and with the seriousness it deserved.”

Round Top’s Traditional OktoBierfest is this Saturday

A tinge of fall is in the air and it’s again time to celebrate OktoBierFest at the historic Round Top Schuetzen Verein on Saturday October 25, 2025. Meanwhile the smell of freshly cooked sausage, grilled Kassler Rippchen, a German style smoked pork chop, Wienerschnitzel, Sauerkraut and much more is in the fresh morning air. The kegs have been tapped for Frühschoppen (early drinking) to compliment the traditional array of German food.
