The Catholic Daughters of Queen of the Holy Rosary, Court No. 2282 of Hostyn recently had their election of officers. The officers for 2020-2022 are from left: Chaplain Fr. The board of directors of the La Grange Senior Citizens Activity Group, Inc. met on Wednesday, June 24 at the City of La Grange Randolph Recreation Center. One of the main items on the agenda was the decision whether to hold the regular meeting/meal to be held this fall. The group unanimously voted to cancel the activity. It was felt the current situation would be detrimental to the health of its members. It was voted to tentatively have a meeting with a speaker and a meal in the spring of 2021.

The Schulenburg City Council voted unanimously Tuesday afternoon to ban gatherings of 100 or more people in an effort to stem the spread of coronavirus. The move effectively cancelled the Schulenburg Festival, which was set to take place the first weekend in August.

The Fayette County Office of Emergency Management confirmed on Monday that another Fayette County resident died from COVID-19 on Saturday, June 27. The deceased was a 92-year-old man from the La Grange area (although he lived in Pct. 4). He was hospitalized at the time of his death.
