The Schulenburg Volunteer Fire Department served more than 1,700 plates of delicious beef stew at their annual Firemen’s Benefit Supper in Schulenburg on Thursday. It took 13 kettles to cook the 1,850 lbs.

La Grange High School junior Jackson Elliott has made a documentary that has advanced to the state semifinals of the UIL film competition. Elliott’s documentary that focuses on Lorenza Crosby, a longtime resident of Fayette County.

The Colorado Independent Cattlemen’s Association of Texas annual fundraiser is Saturday, Feb. 21. Admittance includes barbecue meal and beverages.
