City of LG Mask Policy Differs From County’s

La Grange City Manager Shawn Raborn said the City will continue to ask customers to wear face masks in City Hall and other city offices. He said employees will continue wearing masks as well, despite Governor Greg Abbott’s decision to lift the statewide mask order on March 10.

Fayette County Teachers Now Eligible for COVID Vaccine

Texas teachers are now eligible for the Covid vaccine according to state health officials and Fayette County already has a plan in place to get shots in arms.

“We’ve been working on this for quite some time – we’ve been working with the school districts to identify their teachers who fall in the 1A and 1B categories and have requested vaccines specifically for those teachers. We were notified today that we have enough doses coming to cover all the teachers who want the shot who fall within those categories,” said Craig Moreau, Fayette County chief of emergency management.

During the recent ice storm, wild birds were left out in the cold, literally. They tended to stay closer than normal to homes and residential bird-feeders. Lutheran World Relief Quilts Blessed at Holy Cross Warda

The ladies at Holy Cross Lutheran Church have a very busy quilting group and despite the unprecedented turn of events in 2020, they were able to make lots of quilts for the Lutheran World Relief Organization. On Sunday, Feb. 28 the church had a special “Blessing of the Quilts” that will be sent to countries to distribute during disasters. These quilts provide such needed warmth and comfort to those in need.

Sheriff Offers Update on Narcotics Unit

Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that the Fayette County Sheriff’s Undercover Narcotics Unit, which is tasked with getting street level drugs out of Fayette County, made several cases recently.
