La Grange Main Street will be hosting its 4th Annual La Grange Art Stroll on Saturday, June 12 from 3 to 7 p.m. on the Fayette County Courthouse Square.

The Blinn College District has named 2,203 students to its academic honors lists for the spring 2021 semester. Blinn named 1,033 students to its Chancellor’s Scholars List and 1,170 to the Deans’ Scholars List.

Tracie Holub and husband James Pfeil are excited to announce that they have a new doctor in the house. Their son, Collin Evan Hummel is graduating with his doctorate in veterinary medicine from Saint George University in Grenada. After three years in Grenada he spent his fourth year doing clinical at the University of Florida in Gainesville. They are looking forward to having him back in Texas again.

Second Chance Emporium recently donated $1,000 to the Round Top Family Library. Monies donated will be used to restart the Junior Master Gardener’s Program and to offer garden activities during the Summer Enrichment Program. Second Chance Emporium recently donated $4,500 to the Mini Horse Helpers. Monies donated will be used for on going training for the volunteer staff at three skill building workshops. Mini Horse Helpers enhance the lives of at-risk children, adults, and families through equine assisted learning. On Sunday, May 2 Rev. Lee G. Eschberger pastor at Saint Andrews Lutheran Church of Paint Creek, Texas, baptized his great great granddaughter Emersyn Marie Stricker with family, friends, and church members in attendance. After the church service a barbecue meal was served at the church parish hall and everyone enjoyed the day. At the celebration it was announced that 21 years ago, Rev. Lee G. Eschberger also baptized Emersyn’s mother, and he was her mothers great grandfather. Pictured left to right: Marlene C.
