I am excited to say that Pct. 4 is still on track for the new EMS station next year. This will help serve our community better and also have room for future growth as the call volume increases in our area!
The TxDOT Mazurek Road Bridge Grant Project has been completed; there are a total of nine bridges will be replaced over the next few years in Pct. 4.
Winter 2021 started out with a bang including the big freeze in February.
During that time we helped supply water to several local assistant living facilities and set up a water filling station. In May of 2021 two tornadoes hit Pct. 4. Crews cut down broken trees and cleaned up all the debris for weeks, for a total of 76 loads. The Spring brought heavy rains and flooding and washed out two roads in Pct. 4. The roads were repaired and the drainage pipes upgraded to handle more water in the future.
Pct. 4 crews were able to make four rounds with the shredders this year, which is no easy task when you have a total of 186 miles of roads. Old equipment was sold in an auction this year which provided extra money to spend upgrading the fleet. Due to the brush cutting 85 percent of our roads are clean and trimmed. Pct. 4 crews are changing out signs and catching up with the pot holes now that our road construction has come to an end.
I would like to thank my crew for doing a great job this year, as you can see they have had a busy one. Without them none of this would be possible. To the residents of Fayette County I would like to say thank you for allowing me to serve as your commissioner. It has truly been an honor and I look forward to continue making great strides for our county in the future. My door is always open and I am only a call away for any of your concerns. When you live in a tight knit community like Fayette County there is nothing we cannot accomplish together! From my family to yours, Thank You and Have A Happy New Year!
