Wild Hogs Creating Headaches in Muldoon Area

Hogs are back in the area. After a break from the pests they seem to have come back to tear up pastures and become nuisances on the roads again. Several have been hit on the roads and vehicle damage can be substantial. So keep your eyes open and watching for wildlife.

Neighborhood Watch

Start the New Year by checking in with your neighbors and making sure all is good. It would be a great way to start 2022 taking care of each other. We all have to pull together and keep the Muldoon area safe. Get to know your neighbors and help each other out by keeping an eye out for strange vehicles in and around the area. Give that neighbor a call and let them know that something out of the ordinary

Many got to meet each other at Christmas in Muldoon and hopefully the connections stuck, so we can all start pulling together to keep the area safe. The more people know each other the more we can watch out for each other.

Out and About

Nancie and Billie Blair enjoyed a nice Christmas. Nancie’s mom, Elaine Lang came down with Nancie’s sister and brother in law, Lu and Fred Ginapp. The Blair’s daughter Teresa Holland her friend Christopher Mitchell; and granddaughter Zoe Holland (home from the University of Southern California) also came out to celebrate. The Blair’s nephew Jeremy Lang and his family also stopped by during the holidays on their way to Sea-World in San Antonio.

Kathy and Frank Chlumsky had to make a fast trip to Lake Charles to check on Kathy’s folks, Kenneth and Nelda Lamb, who were in the hospital for a few days with pneumonia. Kathy is happy to report they both are doing much better and they were able to come back home.

Reed Rightmer has been home from school in Houston for a couple weeks enjoying some country quiet and helping out around the place.

Weather

Muldoon has seen the weather swing back and forth from rather chilly weather with a hard freeze of 27 degrees back to short sleeve weather of the mid seventies, one day baling hay to the next day putting it out. The weather in 2022 seems rather confused to what to do.

Ill

There is a wave of illnesses going through the community. Be sure and check on your neighbors and make sure they are OK. There have been some COVID cases in and around the area along with lots of sinus and allergy problems. Take care of yourself and lend a hand to your neighbor when you can. That is what makes a small community special.
