Wendish Heritage Society Hosting Fish Fry
The Texas Wendish Heritage Society will be hosting a drive through fish fry lunch on Sunday, June 6, at the Serbin Picnic Grounds from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. The menu includes fried fish, potato salad, brown beans, coleslaw and hush puppies. There will also be a country store with desserts, dry noodles, etc.
Tickets are $12 and calling to reserve a ticket is encouraged. To reserve tickets call (979) 366-2441 or email wendish@bluebon.net. All proceeds benefit the Wendish Heritage Society Scholarship Fund.
BBQ Pork Steak Dinner
The St. Paul Lutheran Church Adult Fellowship in Serbin is having a BBQ pork steak dinner on Sunday, June 20, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Serbin picnic grounds. Only advance plates will be sold for $12 and all are to-go. If you would like to order plates, please contact Susan Michael at (979) 540-0854 or Sharon Claxton at (979) 540-7154 by June 14. All proceeds will be going toward future church/school projects.
Condolences
Our sympathy to Carol and Wally Lehmann and their family on the death of Carol’s sister, Esther Gaston, on May 22. Her funeral was May 28 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Giddings.
Our sympathy to Judy and Danny Jurk and their family on the death of Judy’s mom, Myrtle Harbers, on Thursday. Funeral services are pending at this time.
Healing Hearts and Friends
The Healing Hearts Group in Warda now has a new name. They will now by known as Healing Hearts and Friends. Emily Matheson noted, “our small group has been such a blessing from God, for myself and others at Holy Cross. The journey we take when God leads us to do something we don’t think we are equipped to do is amazing. I have had people from other congregations, as well as married members express a desire to participate in our group. God is good. We have always said that all are welcome, (that includes guys also), as fellowship is what we are longing for, hence the name change.”
Their next trip is in the planning stages and it will be to visit the Painted Churches in Fayette County. Emily is wanting to know if there is enough interest from working members to plan it on a Saturday.

Warda Couples Club
The Warda Couples Club would like to extend an invitation to younger couples and adults for a hamburger social on Friday, July 9 at the Holy Cross picnic grounds. The purpose is to encourage Christian fellowship activity and interaction among the younger members of the church and community. Please RSVP to Lorie Lehmann by July 2 if you would like to attend. Summer Camps
Faith Lutheran High School will offer youth summer camps this summer. Ages are for grades next school year. Classes offered are: June 7-9 Volleyball (Grades 3-8) $15; June 14-16 Basketball (Grades K-8) $15; June 21-23 Art Camp (Grades K-6) $30; June 28-30 STEM Camp (Grades K-6) $30. Bible Study

Services at Holy Cross Lutheran are Sunday at 9 a.m. Bible class and Sunday school follows the morning service.

Faith Lutheran High School

Sewing Circle
The sewing circle meets each Thursday from 9 am to noon in the old fellowship hall. Everyone is welcome to join this group. You do not have to be a member of Holy Cross to join them.
