Wendish Fest a Huge Success; Faith Lutheran High Hosting Oktoberfest
Faith Lutheran High School will be hosting a family friendly Oktoberfest on Saturday, Oct. 23 at Holy Cross Picnic Grounds. They will have a German meal, concession stand, dominos, washers and corn hole tournaments and game for the kids. More details on this event will be coming soon.
Pumpkin Patch
It’s starting to slowly feel like fall around here; some days more than others. Now is a great time to plan your visit to the pumpkin patch. The Lee County Christmas Tree Farm is hosting a family friendly pumpkin patch two weekends in October. There will be wonderful photo opportunities, a hayride and playground. There is no charge for this event. The Pumpkin Patch and activities will be open Oct. 16-17 and Oct. 23-24. Christmas at Tejas Camp
Tejas Camp and Retreat Center will be open to the public this year for Christmas Dec. 10-12 from 4 p.m.-10 p.m. They are offering packages for $29 a person that will include lights, climbing wall, zip line, crate stacking, three-person swing, bounce house and fireworks. They also have VIP packages available for $43 per person that includes the above activities plus dinner, smores kit, hot chocolate and a DIY craft. More information can be found at www.mytejas.org
Travel to Kentucky
Willie and Judy Wagner recently traveled to Kentucky to attend the Jerusalem Ridge Bluegrass Festival. They were there for four days and heard some great music and enjoyed visiting with old friends from other States that they have known for numerous years. They plan to go back next year.
Holy Cross News
The ladies at Holy Cross Church continue to collect cancelled postage stamps. You can drop off at the church office or place in the designated box in the hallway.

The sewing circle meets each Thursday from 9 a.m. to noon in the old fellowship hall. Everyone is welcome to join this group. You do not have to be a member of Holy Cross to join them.
