Weimar ISD Football Field To Get Improvements

• The Weimar ISD Board of Trustees approved a proposal by Hellas Construction for the renovation of the track and expansion of an eighth lane as well as installation of turf for the football field. The project will cost $1,351,387 and is expected to be complete in February of 2022.

• The Weimar Wildcat band traveled to Caldwell ISD to compete in the Brazos Valley Marching festival held on Saturday, Oct. 2. The Weimar Band wonderments Division 1 ratings from all three judges, as well as rewards for: Best 2A Marching, Best 2A Music, Best 2A Drumline, and Best Overall 2A Band.

• The Lost Pines Groundwater Conservation District is expected to announce this week its resumption of its hearing on the Lower Colorado River Authority’s request to pump eight billion gallons of Bastrop County groundwater annually, on a long-term basis. The proposed permit would allow the entire 25,000 acre-feet per year to be exported to Travis County.

• As the Texas redistricting map is being redrawn, all of Lee County will remain in Congressional District 10, as will Burleson, Fayette, Washington, Colorado, Austin, Grimes, Madison and Waller. It will also include 54% of Bastrop County, 70% of Brazos, 15% of Travis, 78% of Walker and 8% of Williamson counties.
