Visit Muldoon Museum Oct. 3
The Muldoon Museum is going to be open on Saturday Oct. 3 from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Make time to stop and see what all has gone on in Muldoon in the past. There are pictures, articles and exhibits honoring those who came before us and created a wonderful little community of today. There are farm implements and lots of railroad items to check out and get a good upclose look at.
Out and About
Nancie Blair slipped away for a few days to Crystal Beach with her sister, Lu Ginapp. The sisters joined one of Lu’s friend, Laurrie Null to spread the ashes of her sister, Vicki Molina. The ladies enjoyed the time they had together catching up with an appreciation of life and enjoying their time they got to spend together.
Beth and Jack Field came in from Magnolia to visit with Beth’s family, Devon Boehnke, Dana and Darrell Kulak. They also ran over to visit with Beth’s mom, Virginia Tappe who now lives in Smithville. Darrell took advantage of the extra help and put them to work with all kinds of little jobs around the place.
Nancy and Martin Cherry enjoyed a visit from Nancy’s brother-in-law Paul Comeaux. Paul was passing through and just stopped in for a visit.
Stray Gathering Cowboy
The time is fast approaching for the 4th Annual Stray Gathering Cowboy Church Fall Round Up on Saturday, Oct. 3 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
There are lots of plans being fulfilled to get this fun and festive event underway. This will be a family friendly event and everyone is invited to come out and participate. There will be all kinds of games for both the young and the old.
If you are hungry there will be a real chuck wagon there to provide lunch for a free will donation. Bring the kids ready to ride. There will be pony rides along with some fun games of chance, like a cakewalk.
Want to up your game of chance? Buy a chance to win a heifer calf for just $20. Or you can buy a chance for a gun. See any of the SG2C members for raffle tickets.
To add to your fall shopping pleasure there will be vendors with a wide assortment of fun items to get a headstart on your Christmas shopping or maybe your fall decorating. This is also the best chance to stop in and check out their new property at 6240 FM 609.

Coming up on Oct. 6 at 10 a.m. a Women’s Bible Study will be starting. “Nothing is Impossible with God” is the title of this new study and area ladies are invited to come out and join in learning more about the Bible. They will be meeting at the church for the Bible study.
Interested in checking out the SG2C? They meet each Sunday morning. Starting the day out with coffee, doughnuts and fellowship at 9:30 a.m. Worship service then starts at 10 a.m. Come early and get to know some of your neighbors.
Rain in Area
Muldoon did see a little rain recently from a sea breeze shower. Strong winds, thunder and more and every drop was welcomed. Some areas got more and some did not get any. Things are really dry in the area and any and all rain is welcomed.
Traffic
Traffic is becoming a little busier. There is some oil field activity going on with surveyors shooting some lines. Try and watch out for them along with any tractor traffic that is starting due the drought the ranchers having to start feeding. Slow down and pass carefully when you need to. A few more minutes behind a tractor is not going to stop your world unless you have a wreck or worse cause one due to impatience. Muldoon is still a rural ranching community, so just expect possible delays and pack your patience.
