Vehicle Fire In Ledbetter Area

Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports on Friday night about 10:45 p.m. the Fayette County dispatchers received a 911 call reporting a vehicle fire on FM 1291 near Bell Settlement Rd. in the Ledbetter area. The Ledbetter fire department was notified and responded to the scene along with Deputy Rick Martell. Upon arrival it was reported the vehicle, a 2018 Nissan Maxima, was fully engulfed on the side of the road and abandoned. The Ledbetter Fire department arrived and quickly extinguished the fire. There were no reported injuries and the registered owner of the vehicle was contacted. The owner advised the vehicle had overheated and broken down, so he parked it on the side of the road and caught a ride home.
