Valentine Weekend’s Icy Embrace

Temperatures plunged into once-in-a-generation lows (the low teens) Sunday and Monday and Fayette County was blanketed by ice. The combination of long-lasting cold temperatures and precipitation made for very dangerous conditions on locals roads. First responders pleaded with the public to avoid an unnecessary travel, but even so numerous wrecks occurred on overpasses and bridges.
