Twenty-Seven Sign Up So Far to Sky-Dive for Habitat This Year

The sky is the limit as Fayette County Habitat for Humanity announces its 2nd Annual Habitat “Leap of Faith’’ Skydiving Fundraiser. This year’s event is looking for 30 participants to continue to help our neighbors across Fayette County who are suffering from living in inadequate or unsafe housing by raising a minimum fundraising goal of $750. This year’s event is scheduled for April 23.

Fayette County Habitat for Humanity’s Executive Director Kenny Couch is more than ready for the event.

“We couldn’t be more excited for our 2nd Skydive Fundraiser,” he said. “Last year was such a huge success and such a memorable event that we can’t wait to do it even bigger this year with the addition of 10 more jump spots. As we move towards our next single-family build we’re excited for the extra attention and support from the community. We couldn’t do anything we do without the support of so many good people and so many of our partner organizations here in Fayette County.”

Heather Bartholme, operations manager for the Fayette County Community Theatre, jumped at the opportunity. “I’m so excited to be a part of this fundraising effort! When Kenny asked if I wanted to jump to help raise money for Habitat, I didn’t hesitate. Well, I hesitated for a minute, but just one! I hope we can beat last year’s amount raised.”

Fayette Community Foundation’s Executive Director Susannah Mikulin is also ready to be fearless and show support, “I’m beyond excited to support Fayette County Habitat by participating in their skydiving fundraiser! I am jumping as a representative of Fayette Community Foundation but more so to showcase how all nonprofits in our area go above and beyond to support each other. Fayette County Habitat does so much good for our community and I hope all community members in Fayette County support this fundraiser so they can continue to do so for years to come!”
