Truck Fire in Muldoon

Sheriff Keith Korenek reports on Tuesday afternoon around 4:47 p.m. the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting a truck on fire on Bittner Rd. near FM 2237 near Muldoon. The Muldoon Fire Department was notified and responded to the scene with Deputy Joe Gonzales. Upon arrival it was reported a Chevrolet pickup truck was fully engulfed. The pickup was pulling a low boy trailer. The Muldoon Fire Department was notified and responded to the scene. The fire had spread to the grass and was quickly extinguished. The driver reported smoke coming in the cab of the pickup vehicle when he stopped the truck. The driver’s cell phone was dead so he had to find help and call 911. There were no reported injuries and the truck was a total loss. The cause of the fire is believed to be electrical or mechanical failure.
