Traffic Stop Near Ellinger Leads to Arrests and Drug Seizure on Hwy. 71

Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports on Wednesday, Nov. 19 around 2:31 a.m. Deputy Josh Jones conducted a traffic stop on a 2011 Subaru for a traffic violation on State Hwy. 71 westbound near Ellinger.

After contact was made with the driver a strong odor of Marijuana was coming from the vehicle. A consent to search the vehicle was given and both occupants got out of the vehicle.

Deputy Jason Fowler arrived and assisted Jones at the scene. Jones located a Marijuana Bong, paraphernalia, Marijuana, and THC gummies.

Subjects Christopher Mc-Comas, 26-year-old of California, and Gabrielle Mirelez, 31-year-old of San Marcos, were arrested and transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center. McComas was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Mirelez was charged with Possession of Marijuana.
