A Toast to the PAT Program

The Schulenburg/Weimar Area Parents as Teachers (PAT) program is grateful to support they receive from the community. Recently, a faithful group of supporters were able to enjoy the auction item they purchased from the 2021 PAT online auction. Toasting to success of the pat program, before they enjoyed a delicious meal prepared by chefs Emily and Michael Callisto of Callisto Culinary at Twin Oaks Ranch were Nadine and Leroy Krischke, Elyse and Elgin Kristinik, Tanya and Joe Schindler, Kristin and Ben Herzik, and Nancy and Troy Brenek.

Early brain development has a lasting impact on a child’s ability to learn and succeed in school and life. PAT takes full advantage of this time, working with parents to become their child’s first and most influential teacher. PAT has been helping children and families for 20 years in our community. During that time, over 29,000 personal home visits were made and approximately 20,000 new books were given to families and children.

By investing in PAT, parents are able to receive, at no cost, the information, support and encouragement they need to help their children develop optimally during the crucial early years of life.
