Thief Breaks Through Wall of LG Business – For 4th Time!

La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath reports that Angel Tobacco World was broken into for the fourth time this year.

The latest break-in happened sometime over the night of Nov. 29-30. The business is located at 811 E. Travis St., just behind Your C Store. Gilbreath said the culprit got inside by cutting a small hole into the wall on the north side of the business. Once inside, the thief broke into a gaming machine and stole $776. Nothing else was taken.

Angela Tobacco Road had been burglarized three times before: on April 4, July 13 and Aug. 3. All three times, Gilbreath said, entry was made in the same way – by cutting a hole in the exterior wall. Gilbreath said the property owner had installed some metal bars across the area that was broken into last time.

“They just moved over a little bit this time,” Gilbreath said.

On each occasion, Gilbreath said, the store’s security cameras and alarm system were not working. Each time, the thief or thieves targeted the gaming machines, Gilbreath said. If anyone has any information about the break-in, contact La Grange Police by calling (979) 968-5806.
