Summer Field Trip Planned for RT-C Students

A summer field trip to Aggieland Safari in Bryan is planned for incoming 1st through 6th graders of RT-C on Tuesday, June 29. Students are asked to be at the school by 8:15 a.m. and to please bring a lunch. Cost is $10/student. Parents who signup in advance are $17/ticket. A permission form can be found on the school website at rtcisd. net. This must be signed and returned and payment must be received no later than June 11. Any questions call (979) 249.3200.

Round Top Family Library

The Round Top Family Library is looking for volunteers to help with gardening. The first Monday of each month, volunteers meet at 8 a.m. and work for 1-2 hours. No gardening experience needed. Please contact Jean at jeanbachofner39@gmail.com for any further questions.

Young Persons’ Concert

Make plans to attend the free Young Persons’ Concert in the Concert Hall at Festival Hill Tuesday, June 22 at 11 a.m. Reservations required. Submit the reservation online or call (979) 249-3129. The Texas Festival Orchestra will begin the program with a performance of Toy Symphany by Joseph Haydn. The program will conclude with Carnival of the Animals, by Camille Saint-Saens.

Monday Night Social

The Round Top Rifle Hall’s Monday Night Social takes place on the first through fourth Mondays of the month from 5:30 - 8 p.m. at the Round Top Rifle Hall. Round Top C of C

The Round Top Chamber of Commerce meets the second Thursday of each month. A social hour begins at 8:30 a.m. and the meetings begin at 9 a.m. For more information or to view minutes from past Chamber meetings, visit roundtopchamber.com/membership.

Round Top Town Council

The Town of Round Top Town Council meets on the second Monday of each month at 6 p.m. at the Town Hall Courthouse, 100 Main Street. If you have any questions, email: TownClerk@rttx.us.

Hermann Sons Life

The regular business meeting for Hermann Sons Life was called to order by President Lila Garlin on Thursday evening, May 27 at Round Top American Legion Hall at 7 p.m. The pledge of allegiance to the flag was recited.

Special guests to receive the donation to the Round Top-Warrenton Volunteer Fire Dept were Keith Burcalow and Blake Moehlmann. The members took a picture beside the fire truck. Hermann Son’s Country Store sales, the items the organization donated to the live auction, plus $500 from the Grand Lodge totaled a donation of almost $2,000. Appreciation to everyone who contributed, purchased items and worked.

Agent Linda Mattocks mentioned the new VP of marketing and their next two-day meeting will be in Comfort in October.

Summer camp enrollment for members ages 9 to 14, plus a mini-camp for 8-year-olds is still open. Last year the camp was upgraded with lots of improvements.

The next meeting will be on June 24 at 6:30 p.m. with a social hour beginning at 6 p.m.

Happy birthday was sung to Pearlie Wagner, Dwight Nittsche and Lila Garlin. Attendance prizes were won by Jeanette Hancock, Linda Mattocks, Ted Stardig, Virgie Hall and Max Baranowski. Barbecue sausage by Randy Wied was served and members provided side dishes and desserts.

Bethlehem Lutheran Church

Bethlehem Lutheran Church holds services with Pastor John David Nedbalek Sundays at 9:30. Holy Communion is celebrated using individual, prepackaged units. Vacation Bible School will be Monday, June 28 – Thursday, July 1 from 5:30 – 8:30. There will be a joint worship with St. Paul, Shelby, on Saturday, July 3 at 6 p.m. There will not be any worship service on Sunday, July 4 at either location. Registration forms are available at the church.

City of Refuge Church

The City of Refuge Church on 237 in Round Top holds Bible study on Sunday mornings at 10 a.m. followed by church service at 11 a.m. For more information visit their Facebook page at facebook.com/cityofrefugeHC.
