STATE BOUND SOUND!
For only the second time in school history, and for the second consecutive year, the La Grange High School marching band has qualified for the state marching competition. The Leps punched their ticket to state by placing fifth (out of 28 teams) at the UIL Area D marching competition Saturday in Pflugerville with their show “Flower Power.”
The top five bands qualified for state. There was quite a bit of drama Saturday because of Mother Nature. La Grange was placed fifth after Saturday’s prelims and earned a trip to Saturday night’s Area finals, but because of storms the finals were cancelled, and by rule the top five from prelims advance to state.
Band director Christopher Cooper made the dramatic announcement to his students Saturday night, and they went wild.
“Our band delivered a stunning performance,” Cooper said of Saturday’s show.
La Grange will be performing at state Wednesday Nov. 5 at 9 a.m. in the Alamodome.
