St. Paul to Hold Annual Turkey Stew Fundraiser
On Saturday, Nov. 13, pull up to the old firestation in the square for St. Paul Lutheran’s 41st Annual Turkey Stew and Bake Sale. Serving to-go begins at 10:30 a.m. Quart size to-go cups are available. Or, bring a sturdy (non-plastic) container that can handle piping-hot stew for a big crowd. Also enjoy a quilt raffle. Proceeds from the event are allocated to cover costs for painting the inside of the church.
Red Ribbon Week
On Red Ribbon Week (an alcohol, tobacco and other drug and violence prevention awareness campaign), Sergeant Randy Thumann, accompanied by his K9 partner Kolt, presented his mission on the war on drugs and highlighted the dangers of illegal drugs to grades Pre-K through 12 at FISD. He explained the intensive training he and Kolt had to undergo to keep Texans safe, including repelling from helicopters to apprehend suspects fleeing on foot. Sergeant Thumann works for the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department and patrols I-10 for narcotics.
Fayetteville Museum
The Fayetteville Museum will be open this Friday, Nov. 5 from 4-7 p.m. and Saturday Nov. 6 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. New lighting makes it easier to view all the historical artifacts.
Harvestfest Fundraiser

Rock n’ Road 100
The Rock n’ Road 100 is rolling into town on Saturday, Nov. 6. The cycling challenge starts and finishes in Fayetteville and offers gravel and road routes with 100 mile and 62 mile options. Registration includes the ride with post ride meal and beer tickets.

Young Beekeeper
What began as an agricultural science project for their young son Emerson turned into so much more for entrepreneurs Elizabeth and Robert Parry. Initially, the couple were seeking an Ag Exemption, choosing to add beekeeping to their working horse farm. After locating a wonderful Master Beekeeper and mentor right up the road, it became an immensely educational experience for their son and another way for them all to spend quality time together.
At six years of age, Emerson started showcasing raw, local honey and recently featured his wares under a tent during Antiques Week. They’ve been working on a honey and lemonade stand made of a pallet and old paddock fencing.
