St. Mark’s New CEO Talks Hospital Goals
The new president of St. Mark’s Medical Center, Mark Kimball, introduced himself to county leaders last Thursday at a Fayette County Commissioners Court meeting.
Kimball made a point of saying that he plans to stay at St. Mark’s for the long-term.
“I’m not an interim president,” he said.
Kimball spoke about the hospital’s goal of stopping the “leakage” of patients seeking healthcare services outside Fayette County. He said the hospital plans to launch a community awareness campaign to educate the public about the kinds of services offered at St. Mark’s.
In addition, Kimball said the hospital wants to expand healthcare access to the community by bringing in more primary care physicians.
“We are going to re-introduce St. Mark’s Medical Center to Fayette and Lee Counties,” Kimball said.
Kimball said the hospital would begin promotional activities over the next six to eight weeks.
