St. Mark’s Annual Thanksgiving Basket Drive Feeds 127 Families

Pictured are Mark Kimball, president and CEO of St. Mark’s Medical Center and staff at St. Mark’s who helped coordinate the annual Thanksgiving food basket drive.

St. Mark’s staff and community members donated money, food, and more to provide bountiful Thanksgiving dinner baskets to feed families of six, including a gift card to purchase a turkey. Baskets were distributed to families in Fayette, Lee, Bastrop and Colorado counties.

“For nearly 25 years, this annual holiday outreach has filled an important need in our community,” said Mark Kimball, President and CEO of St. Mark’s Medical Center (SMMC). “The compassion and generosity of our team and our community are what Thanksgiving is all about. We are blessed to be able to share with those who are less fortunate.”

SMMC’s Lari Hopkins, Kim Lookingbill, and Laurie Quitta, partnered with Bernie Jackson, Community Partnerships & Education Director at the Family Crisis Center to coordinate the drive for families suffering from domestic and sexual violence.

“We could not be more appreciative of the outpouring of support again this year,” said Bernie Jackson. “It is a comfort to know that we can count on St. Mark’s and this community to help our families enjoy a holiday meal together.”
