Speeding Motorcycle Stopped By Gravel

On Sunday, a motorcyclist going 120 miles per hour and evading officers was apprehended after he lost control of his bike on gravel in Ellinger.

Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Louis Gabler clocked the motorcycle’s speed at 117 miles per hour in the Kirtley area of State Highway 71, and the driver of the motorcycle evaded at speeds of 120- plus eastward.

Fayette County Sheriff’s Dept. Sergeant Charles Jobb joined in the pursuit on the east side of La Grange on State Highway 71 and both law enforcement officers gave chase.

The driver of the motorcycle attempted to make a left turn off of State Highway 71 onto Munn Street in Ellinger, and when doing so hit loose gravel on the roadway, losing control of the bike.

Jobb and Gabler took into custody 24 year old Roberto Perez of Bay City. Perez was treated for minor injuries and booked into the Dan R. Beck Justice Center where he was charged with Evading and Unlawful Possession of a firearm by Trooper Gabler.
