South Lee County VFD Holding Fundraiser in Serbin
The South Lee County Volunteer Fire Department will serve BBQ chicken on Sunday, Feb. 27. Pick up from 10 a.m.-noon at the Serbin picnic grounds. Chickens are $10 each, sauce is $2 and 16 oz. cups of potato salad, pinto beans and noodles are $3 each. Orders can be placed with the Holy Cross church office at (979) 242-3333 or the Serbin church office at (979) 366-9650.
Warda Bunch
The Warda Bunch (supporters of the Lee County Junior Livestock Show exhibitors) will have their organizations/appreciation luncheon at the picnic grounds on Sunday, Feb. 13. Super Bowl Snack & Bake Sale
The Ladies Aid group at Holy Cross in Warda will have their annual Super Bowl Snack and Bake Sale on Sunday, Feb. 13. Stop by before or after church in the new Narthex and get some yummy goodies to enjoy while you watch the game. All proceeds go to their convention fund.
Rabbs Creek Wildlife Assoc.
Rabbs Creek Wildlife Association is scheduled to meet on Sunday, Feb. 20 at the picnic grounds, more details coming.
Women’s Renewal Retreat

Hamburger Fundraiser
Trail Life Troop 143 will hold their annual drive-thru hamburger fundraiser on Monday March 7 at the K.C. Hall in Giddings. Tickets are $10 each and include a hamburger with all the fixings, chips, drink and home-made dessert. Tickets can be purchased from Benjamin Kueck, Dylan, Hank or Weston Beck, Eric Schulze or from Christine in the church office. Proceeds go to the boys’ accounts to help them pay for camps, camping equipment, uniforms etc. Pre-sale only; purchase tickets by Feb. 28.
Condolences
Sympathy is extended to Gary and Wendy Wagner on the death of their friend Neil Tipler on Jan. 23.
Sewing and Quilting Group
The sewing and quilting group at Holy Cross meets each Thursday, Jan. 6 from 9 a.m. until noon, in the old parish hall. Everyone is welcome to join them for a morning of sewing, cutting, laughter, fellowship and of course yummy goodies. You do not need to be a member of Holy Cross to join this fun group.
Postage Stamps
The ladies still collect all cancelled postage stamps, these are trimmed from their envelopes and sold to collectors. These can be dropped off at the church office, or in the designated box in the hallway.
Bible Study Group
The Bible Study Group at Holy Cross is currently doing a study on Sermon on the Mount. They meet each Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. If you would like to join the group, please contact Cyndy Zoch at cyndy.zoch@gmail.com or (979) 966-3166 so she can order a study guide for you. The cost of the study guide will be $15-18.
Holy Cross Services
Services at Holy Cross Lutheran are Sunday at 9 a.m. Bible Class and Sunday school follows the morning service.

Faith Lutheran High School
The boys basketball team has several games coming up: Feb. 8 at McDade 7 p.m. and Feb. 15 at Fayetteville 4 p.m.
The archery team continues to succeed and competed last week for their state qualifier. They will find out soon if any of the students qualified for state competition.
Track practice will begin soon.
Faith Lutheran High School is waiving the registration fees for 2022-2023 school year for any student that registers by March 11. Register early to take advantage of this savings. Call (979) 242-2889 or visit www.flhstx.org to receive registration materials.
