Chill-dren and the Young at Heart Enjoy Sunday’s Snowstorm

By northern standards, the inch or so of snow most parts of Fayette County received Sunday afternoon would have been no big deal. But in these parts, such a rare occurrence was enough to make everyone young at heart head outside to play.

It was enough snow for industrious youngsters to scrap together to make snowmen, and concerning enough for most area schools to delay the start of school two hours Monday. The ice did make for dangerous roadways. Fayette County deputies were called out to assist with the numerous accidents along I-10, Hwy 290, Hwy 71 and Hwy 77 Sunday afternoon.
