Snack Shop in Downtown La Grange Holds Ribbon Cutting

Bartley’s Snack Shop in downtown La Grange, at 244 N. Washington St, in a building that dates back to the late 1800s, held their ribbon cutting Friday morning. The shop has been open for months but has been steadily adding more and more items, and specializes in both new and classic candies and sodas and Blue Bell Ice Cream. The shop is owned by Michael and Heather Bartley (front row, above with Michael holding the scissors and Heather to the left of him). “This shop was my wife’s idea, there’s no place like this around,” Michael said. “Candy and sweets were always a special part of my childhood,” Heather said. “It’s nice to bring back those memories with a store like this.” The couple is also working on making the upstairs of the building an Air BnB type rental.
