SLM Volunteers Help With Food Distribution

Volunteers for Shared Lutheran Ministry (SLM) masked up and velcroed safety vests to graciously distribute over 9,000 lbs. of prepackaged boxes at Waldeck Lutheran Church to 117 families. Pastor Marcia Kifer, who is retiring, distributed food in sweltering 90+ degree heat for the last time.

Farewell to Pastor Marcia

The SLM 20th anniversary and farewell to Pastor Marcia is Sept. 12 at the SPJST Hall in Fayetteville. Dinner tickets are available for $12 for the catered meal of chicken fried pork and sides.

KC Barbecue

The Knights of Columbus are serving up some good eats this Sunday, Sept. 11. Barbeque chicken, sausage and ribs to-go can be picked up at the St. John Hall pits beginning at 10:30 a.m. Orders may be placed by calling (979) 249-6003. The CDA will have side dishes available.

Fayetteville Picking Park

Bluegrass enthusiasts are pickin’ again this Saturday, Sept. 10. All levels of pickers are welcome to join in acoustic bluegrass jamming in the square. It’s always the second Saturday of the month.
