Sky-Diving Benefit Friday – Maybe
After a couple of postponed events, The Habitat for Humanity sky-diving fundraiser is going to give it one more try.
Sky-divers are scheduled to jump throughout the day this Friday, June 25, at Texas Skydiving located at 1055 Pvt. Rd. 7022 in Lexington. If the weather doesn’t cooperate the local jumpers will be given a coupon to sky-dive on a day that suits them.
Initially the event was going to be held at the Fayette County fairgrounds, but has twice been moved back by bad weather.
“While we are also disappointed that this event was unable to proceed as originally planned we can’t thank you enough for your efforts on our behalf. As of today, jump participants have collectively raised $22,437.21 on behalf of Fayette County Habitat,” said Kenny Couch, Executive Director of Fayette County Habitat for Humanity. “Now the great news. An anonymous donor is covering all costs associated with putting on this event which means every single dollar raised will go directly towards putting people in safe, decent homes.”
