Skaggs Brothers to Perform Special Friday Night Sing
The Skaggs Brothers, Larry and William Skaggs, will be coming into Round Top from Nashville to perform a very special Friday Night Sing for the community on Sept. 25 from 7-9 p.m. at Round Top Church Christian Fellowship at 440 E. Mill Street in Round Top. Their music is a mixture of gospel and country with a touch of bluegrass. Due to the extreme Texas heat, the event will take place inside their airconditioned building. Light refreshments will be served. Everyone is invited to attend and enjoy the music. There is no admission charge.
Round Top Festival Institute On Saturday, Sept. 19, from 3-5 p.m., Round Top Festival Institute will celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month with a special performance by Mariachi Aztlán in the Festival Concert Hall. This lively performance will showcase the rich musical traditions of Mexico and the vibrant sound of mariachi music. The nationally awardwinning Mariachi Aztlán has toured all North America, with performances in the Hollywood Bowl, the White House, and our own Festival Concert Hall. Waldeck Food Truck
The Mobile Food Pantry will be distributing food at the Waldeck Church on Saturday, Sept. 19, from 10-11 a.m. If you wish to volunteer that morning from 9-11 a.m., please contact Doris Whittkamm at (979) 966-8186.
Round Top Rifle Hall
The next Monday Night Burger Social will be held on Monday, Sept. 21, at the Round Top Rifle Hall, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. The Round Top Rifle Hall is now accepting credit cards for payment, so no cash, no problem. They invite the community to join for cold drinks and a delicious meal.
Hermann Sons Life, RT
The next monthly meeting of the Hermann Sons Life will be held on Sept. 22 at the Round Top Rifle Hall.
RT-C ISD Booster Club On Saturday, Sept. 26, the 3rd Annual Round Top-Carmine Booster Club Shrimp Boil Fundraiser will be held at the Round Top Rifle Hall beginning with a 5 p.m. happy hour and 6 p.m. meal. There will also be a live and silent auction, a DJ, and entertainment. Proceeds support the RT-C ISD Athletics. St. Paul, Shelby
On Sunday, Sept. 27, at 8 a.m., St. Paul Lutheran Church in Shelby invites everyone to join them for their annual service in their Historic Church, which is located across from their main sanctuary at 6814 Skull Creek Road. There will be no airconditioning so please bring a fan. After the service, there will be fellowship, bingo, and burgers in the main education building. Round Top Family Library
Round Top Family Library thanks everyone who helped make the 2026 Gala such a wonderful evening. The library is grateful to everyone who attended, volunteered, donated, purchased raffle tickets, participated in the auction and supported the event in so many ways. A special thank you goes to the Gala Co-Chairs and Committee, volunteers, sponsors and everyone who helped make the evening possible. The generosity of the community helps make the library’s programs, services and continued growth possible.
Round Top Family Library welcomes children and their families back for Storytime beginning Tuesday, Oct. 6, at 10:30 a.m. Storytime will be held each Tuesday and will feature stories, songs, activities and plenty of fun for young children. The library looks forward to welcoming families back for another season of reading, learning and enjoying time together.
Round Top Family Library offers free fitness classes five days a week for all fitness levels. The weekly schedule includes yoga on Mondays at 5 p.m. and Wednesdays at 9 a.m., muscle/core training on Tuesdays and Fridays at 7:30 a.m. and 9 a.m., and chair yoga on Thursdays at 9 a.m. Whether you’re just getting started or looking to maintain your fitness routine, everyone is welcome. Bring a towel and water bottle and come ready to move. All classes are free and open to the public.
RTFL welcomes you to stop by to check out a good book, browse the Book Sale, or grab a free puzzle to take home. The Book Sale has recently received many new books, so there’s plenty to discover. And if you’re looking for something to do on a quiet afternoon, stop by and pick up a free puzzle.
Round Top American Legion The American Legion Quade-Werchan Post #338 and Auxiliary meets the first Thursday of each month at their hall located at 1503 N. State Highway 237 in Round Top. Meetings begin at 6:30 p.m.
RT-C ISD
The Round Top-Carmine ISD Fall Festival will take place on Oct. 17 from 4-7 p.m. It will be held at the RT-C Elementary School. There will be a kid’s costume parade and contest, free carnival activities, a haunted house, a raffle, a cake walk, and a flamed grilled hamburger meal, chili dogs, and dessert. Admission is free and all are invited.
Round Top Lion’s Club
The Round Top Lions Club met on Sept. 9 at Festival Hill in Round Top. The meeting was called to order by Suzanne Ellis, president. The pledges were recited and then the members enjoyed a pulled pork and baked potato lunch prepared by staff of Festival Hill. Tail Twister Gary Russell introduced a game called “Humm Dinger” in which a person was to hum a song or give a clue for the others to guess. Everyone enjoyed the humor. Speakers for upcoming meetings were discussed. The members recognized Lions Ed and Suzanne Ellis, who will be receiving the Joe and Carolyn Bailey Philanthropist of the Year Award. Lions Ed and Suzanne have helped sustain organizations across Fayette County for more than 20 years. Also recognized was the work that Lions Ken and Jane Page are doing in Antiqua Guatemala, helping bring medical care to those in need. Suzanne Ellis updated all about the eye and hearing testing which will take place at RT-C Elementary school in November. All those interested in helping are to let Suzanne know. Lion Gary Pior reminded those attending that the flags around the Round Top Courthouse will be put out on Sept. 11 for Patriot’s Day. The community is encouraged to join the Lion’s Club in serving the community.
Bethlehem Lutheran Church Mark your calendars to attend a special Sunday morning celebrating 160 years of faith, hope, and service of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Bethlehem was established in 1866. On Sunday, Oct. 11, BLC will have an 8 a.m. worship service in the historic sanctuary, a 9:30 a.m. worship service at the Round Top Rife Assn. Hall, and then food and fellowship to follow with a German-style sausage meal served for lunch. Meal tickets are $15 each and can be purchased at the church office or by calling (979) 249-3686. All are welcome to attend any or all the events.
