Sheriff Korenek Reports On September Activities
Sheriff Keith Korenek reports activities of Fayette County Sheriff Deputies for the month of September 2021.
Deputy Ben Wilson responded to Clark’s Trailer Park in reference to a disturbance. The parties were separated for the day and no charges were filed. Wilson also investigated a death inquest at a residence off of Cozy Corner Rd. The death was the result of natural causes.
Investigator Marc Bennett assisted in a murder investigation at the Green Acres Apartments where a suspect was identified and arrested. Bennett is also investigating an alleged sexual assault.
Sergeant Ron Naumann arrested an intoxicated person at the Fayette County Fair.
Deputy Ryan Meagher responded to the Green Acres Apartments for an inquest. The death was ruled a homicide and a suspect was developed and taken into custody shortly thereafter. Meagher also investigated an inquest in the Carmine area. The death is currently under investigation and awaiting the results of an autopsy.
Deputy AJ Gonzales responded to a four wheeler accident on Rosanky Road. Gonzales investigated the accident where minor injuries were sustained.
Deputy Herman Olvera took a report of an alleged deadly conduct incident were shots where fired in the direction of another individual. Olvera also took a theft report in the Flatonia area where approximately fifty joints of drill stem were stolen.
Deputy Austin Moore stopped the driver of a vehicle on FM 609 for an equipment violation. The driver of the vehicle was arrested on an out of state warrant. Moore also stopped a driver of a vehicle for a traffic infraction on Airport Rd. The driver of the vehicle was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.
Deputy James Ulbig responded to an eighteen wheeler high-centered on Klekar Gin Road. A wrecker was called and the truck was removed.
Deputy Rick Martell took a report of an incident where a contractor was hired to conduct work and was paid up front. No work was conducted and the case is under investigation.
Deputy Joe Gonzales took a report of a stolen vehicle and developed a suspect. The vehicle was later recovered in the Austin area. Gonzales also took a report of mailbox damage in the Fayetteville area.
Deputy Michael Krenek responded to a disturbance in the La Grange area for an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon call. A warrant was issued for the suspect in this case.
Deputy Jared Michalec stopped the driver of a vehicle on State Hwy. 71 for a traffic violation. The driver of the vehicle was found to be in possession of a controlled substance and marijuana. The driver of the vehicle was arrested. Michalec also stopped a driver of a vehicle on State Hwy. 237 near Warrenton for a moving violation. The driver of the vehicle was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and unlawfully carrying a weapon.
Deputy Seth Nagel responded to an accident on FM 155. The driver of the vehicle was found to be intoxicated and was arrested.
Deputy Orlando Buitron stopped the driver of a vehicle for an equipment violation on State Hwy. 71 near Krenek Road. The driver of the vehicle was found to be in possession of marijuana, mushrooms, LSD, and THC oil. The driver was arrested. Buitron also made a traffic stop on US Hwy. 77 where the driver of the vehicle was found to be intoxicated and arrested for DWI.
Deputy Lee Phillips worked a vehicle accident at FM 2237 and State Hwy. 95 in the Cistern area where one person was transported by EMS with injuries. Phillips also investigated an accident where a vehicle struck a deer on US Highway 90 just east of Schulenburg.
Deputy Dustin Kieschnick stopped the driver of a vehicle for an equipment violation on State Hwy. 71. The driver was found to have a protective order and two of the protective persons were in the vehicle. The driver was arrested for violation of protective order. Kieschnick also responded to a suicidal person in Winchester near the railroad tracks. The person was located and treated for medical injuries.
