Shared Lutheran Ministry Offering Day Camp
The Shared Lutheran Ministry of Fayette County is offering Day Camp July 26-30 from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Rutersville. The camp will be for grades K-5th grade; 6th-high school students will be needed as helpers. Children can be dropped off as early as 8 a.m. for breakfast. The cost is $50 and includes lunch and all supplies.
Children may be signed up for breakfast for an extra $10. SLM or Lutherhill t-shirts will also be available for $10. The theme is “Be Bold!” The apostle Paul writes, “Since, then, we have such a hope, we act with great boldness.” God invites you to be bold, not because you are inherently courageous or exceedingly qualified, no you can act with boldness because your hope is anchored in Jesus. This summer, campers will explore the invitation to be bold in curiosity, connection, fear, and love.

Ellinger Sewer & Water
The Ellinger Sewer and Water Corporation held its regular monthly meeting on Monday, June 14. Greg Hunger, president, called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m. at the Ellinger Fire Station. Board members present included Hunger, Roy Moore, Bradley Dunk, Curtis Zwahr, and Michael Schlabach.
Minutes from the emergency meeting held on May 27 were presented. Attending that meeting were Greg Hunger, Michael Schlabach, Bradley Dunk, and Roy Moore.
Michael Schlabach was elected as secretary, Roy Moore was appointed as Vice president to replace Randy Robertson who resigned at the regular meeting held in May and Curtis Zwahr was appointed as a director to fulfill Robertson’s term.

Under new business, it was noted that Wayne Kocian will be paid $250 ($100 increase) for mowing around Corporation sites. The Corporation will be billed for this job by Inframark who will then pay Kocian. Carissa Karisch resigned as office manager/bookkeeper at the May meeting. As a result the board discussed having Inframark take over the Corporation’s billing for water and sewer. A motion was made to pay Inframark $4.13 per connection for this service. The cost per connection was amended to $4.05 per connection at the June 14 meeting. Customers will be able to pay by check, credit card, QR code, or by phone. At the June meeting it was noted that the current software will be charging the Corporation a fee of $800 to transfer Ellinger’s billing information to Inframark’s software. The Board discussed adding a $5 fee to each customer’s bill to cover this billing fee. No action was taken on this matter at the May or June meeting. Cierra Craig of Inframark presented the manager’s report and it was approved. Bradley Loehr presented an update on the ongoing projects, and noted that the CDBG grant had been submitted. Loehr, of BEFCO, noted that Russell Drilling had recently installed a new pump and motor on the new water well. It was also videoed. Loehr needed board approval for payment of $76,972.80 to Russel Drilling for this work completed. Loehr also noted that a change order was made last week, reducing the amount of the well operations by $13,536. This reduction was due to installation of a motor with smaller horsepower and smaller discharging piping. Loehr also mentioned that Fayette County’s application for the 8 inch pipeline project was not chosen, but the county will resubmit the application for the next grant cycle. There was much discussion over the planning phase of the well projects and the delays in getting the projects in motion. Loehr reiterated that funding for the filtration system ($1.4 million) has not been secured and all other phases depend on the funds before moving forward.
Additionally there was discussion about interlocal agreements between the Corporation and the City of Ellinger concerning easements and placement of Corporation structures, interl ocal agreement between the City of Ellinger and Inframark, and finally the composition of a resolution to appoint a project manager for the Corporation’s water projects. Loehr, the Corporation’s engineer, has been acting in this capacity.
The final item of business was the approval of hiring Schneider, Frazee, and Matocha to pay the Corporation’s bills. Motion was approved and this accounting firm will provide this service for a fee of $150 per month.
The next regular monthly meeting is scheduled for July 12 at 7 p.m.

The Ellinger Hermann Sons Life Lodge will meet on Monday, June 21 at 6 p.m. at the Ellinger Fire Station.
Fayetteville Brethren Church
Fayetteville Brethren Church has services the second and fourth Saturdays of each month at 10 a.m. COVID-19 protocols will be followed. Other services are at Industry Brethren on the second, third and fourth Saturdays at 5 p.m., Wesley Brethren on Sundays at 9 a.m. and Nelsonville Brethren on Sundays at 10:15 a.m. Rev. Mike Groseclose leads all the services. The Nelsonville service is live streamed on Nelsonville Brethren’s Facebook page.
St. John Rutersville WELCA
St. John Rutersville WELCA is once again announcing the following summer food list for AMEN. Ellinger Chamber Bingo
The Ellinger Chamber of Commerce will be offering Bingo again this year. Scheduled events are as follows: Saturday, June 26, July 24, Aug. 28, Sept. 11, Oct. 30, and Nov. 13.
