This month, as the community reflects on gratitude, the center takes a moment to highlight the invaluable contributions of its volunteers.

These outstanding individuals bring a warmth and grace that make our center a welcoming place for all. You can see their passion for service in the genuine smiles and kindness they share with everyone. We want to express our heartfelt appreciation for our amazing volunteers for their time and dedication, including Linda Heller, Janiece Collins, Cynthia Trojacek, Darlene Williams, in Weimar, Sharon Rodriguez, Kathy Carpenter, Pam Janda, Judy Haggeman, Judy Jasek, Lupe Rodriguez, Britney Wagner, and Brenda Ray in Schulenburg, as well as Kitty Wilbanks in Flatonia. Many volunteers generously support multiple locations, displaying their dedication to the community.

Looking ahead, the schedule for the week of Nov. 3 promises a delightful mix of food and fun.

Members in Schulenburg will enjoy a meal on Monday, Nov. 3 catered by Koopmann Catering, featuring chicken spaghetti, salad, and garlic bread. After lunch, member Harlan Kubo will share his life story centered around music, followed by Bingo with Elizabeth Fox from Freyburg Dance Hall.

The menu on Tuesday, Nov. 4 in Weimar will feature a hearty pot of chili accompanied by cornbread and a refreshing salad. Today we will enjoy coke floats for dessert. The Lunch and Learn program will feature Jim and Elena Pate, who will serenade attendees with nostalgic tunes and encourage them to sing along. First Texas Home Health will lead Bingo later in the day.

The dining experience on Wednesday, Nov. 5 in Schulenburg will include lasagna, a salad with seasonal fruit, and delightful desserts prepared by our members. Fayette Savings Bank will take the stage as the afternoon Bingo caller.

We are kicking off a new month of creative workshops on Friday, Nov. 7 for Artful Friday at Arts for Rural Texas. Jaime Janda will return with art journals, while Stephanie Shroyer starts a new mosaic class. Interested participants are required to register by calling the center at (979) 7433227, as spaces are limited.
